Major events of the Foundation help to provide resources, tools, and delightful experiences throughout our district and our community.

Kearney Public Schools Foundation and its volunteers serve up Christmas magic to 2,600 children and parents in Kearney when the North Pole Express boards.

Leaving the station four times per evening to ferry children to see Santa at the “North Pole” in Kearney, Nebraska, Kearney’s trolleys Carl and Rosie will leave FNBO, travel through downtown Kearney and Pioneer Neighborhood taking in the Christmas decorations before heading for the “North Pole” (Kearney Country Club) to meet Santa.

Sponsorship of this event ensures the success of the fundraiser for the Foundation while keeping the ticket price at $10 to ensure as many children as possible can attend. The Foundation builds complimentary tickets into the event budget to ensure families on free and reduced lunches can attend.

This annual event gives the educators and staff of Kearney Public Schools the accolades they so deserve. Honoring years of service, retirees, and Outstanding Teachers, Support Staff, Retired Teacher and our KHS Distinguished Graduate makes an event that truly celebrates excellence in education.

2023 CLASS Act 

Since its inception in 2005, the students of Kearney Public Schools have benefitted from over $1 million in grants from CLASS Act (Community Leading and Supporting Students.) Its mission – to support Kearney Public Schools academics, fine arts, technology, drug/alcohol education, athletics and safety issues district wide.
