Jonathan C. Watts

Jon Watts has focused on making Kearney a great place to live through his work as a Kearney Public Schools Board of Education member, Kearney Public Schools Foundation Board President, Leadership Kearney graduate, Leadership Nebraska graduate, Buffalo County Community Partners Campaign Co-Chair, Yanney Park Heritage Foundation Board Member, University Village Facility Development Corporation member, member of Museum of Nebraska Art Board of Directors, and the GW Frank Museum of History and Culture Advisory Board.

His work at UNK will be visible for decades to come as the campus construction projects created a park-like environment for students, faculty, and all of the community.

Jon never champions himself, but is a consistent champion of others. His impact is multiplied by all of the individuals he has uplifted as they work to make this a great community for all and we are proud to name him our 2025 Distinguished Graduate!
